Remote-friendly cards

After generating a round, each player gets a private card link. Send links in a chat or let players scan QR codes.

Works with calls

Use Discord, Zoom, Google Meet, FaceTime, or any group call while players reveal their cards on their own devices.

No public live room needed

The game does not create a public lobby or real-time server. Card data stays inside the browser link fragment, so your group can play in the call or chat you already use.

Same rules online

Players describe the word, ask questions, vote for the imposter, and reveal the result when the group is ready.

FAQ

Common imposter game questions

What is an imposter game?

An imposter game is a social word game where most players know the same secret word while one or more imposters try to blend in without knowing it.

How many players do I need?

The game works with at least three players. Four to ten players usually gives the best balance between discussion and guessing.

Can I play online?

Yes. Generate the round, share private card links or QR codes, then talk over Discord, Zoom, Google Meet, or another call.

Does this need an app download?

No. The generator runs in the browser and does not require login, app download, or a paid API.

Can teachers use it in class?

Yes. Use the school or easy word lists, keep the family-friendly filter on, and ask students to describe the word in short sentences.

What is clue mode?

Clue mode gives imposters a related clue instead of a blank card. It makes the game easier for younger players or classrooms.
